Would this work in New York City?

In San Francisco, oldies station KFRC went from oldies to a 70s and 80s format, centerting the music on the 38-49 crowd, Generation Jones I believe it is called. Music includes Elton John, Diana Ross, I guess some of the biggest and most popular hits from the 70s and into the 80s. Does anyone think this would work in NYC? Possibly get some displaced CBS FM listeners or picking up Lite FM listeners?

The format KFRC has now in San Francisco would most likely definitly work in NYC Radio since its oldies from the 60s to the 80s but in order for it to work for all the ex-cbsfm djs to work at that kind of a station it would have to be personality driven to replace what we lost when cbsfm died and two suggestions for that, 1 i would say Clear Channel should run it and not infinity, 2 it must have a live stream for people like me who live out of the city to listen to it.

I disagree with your suggestion #1 that Clear Channel should run it. The reason I say that is a station like the new KFRC would probably hurt WLTW more than anyone else in NY, since Lite plays plenty of 70s and 80s. In fact,In SF KFRC is targeting AC KOIT more than any other station.

106.7 is already doing this! They seem to play more Disco than CBS-FM did!!

If K Rock dies, maybe they could replace with this, but it might hurt Jack, unless it was softer.
