Would this work in Sacto?

The music is too niche and too old. It would have a demo well above 45 and agencies would pass over it since it would not have enough significant younger numbers. Putting it on a HD channel would only make it worse since the cume wouldn't be significant enough to make it worth while on HD.

That sounds complicated. All I know is when I stream that station through speakers at work , everybody's groovin' . ( I guess that's an over 45 expression) Maby it could work as a weekend feature on krjy or kjay.

Beach Music in California? Not this type. I worked at KZAP late 70's-early 80's (I'm from NC) and when I mentioned "Beach Music" there It was always, "oh yeah, Jan & Dean, Beach Boys I've heard that..." Not the same. It's a regional thing on the East Coast from Virginia down through Georgia concerning bands like The Drifters, The Tams, Chairmen of the Board. Craig Woolard band and MANY more including a LOT of R&B bands who are ingratiated to the Beach Misic crowd. It has a certain beat and rhythm to it that just makes you want to dance! The dance that is done to this brand of "Beach Music" is called "The Shag." It's kind of a soft-stepping whirl designed JUST for the beat of beach music. I don't live at the coast but I work at an AM-FM combo that includes a 100,000 watt FM Talker and a 5,000 watt AM Beach Music station. Unfortunately we don't stream but that link to the SC Beach Msic station should be right on the mark concerning this special brand of music. It IS a fun and interesting brand of music peppered with oldies that you'd recognize. People don't just LIKE Beach Music, they are fanatical about it too!
