Would WFMY-TV 2 consider adding RTV-Retro Television Network to 2.3???

A logical question... WXII-TV 12 has "This Carolina" on 12.2 that plays many old movies and a few old TV shows like "Patty Duke", and "Mr.Ed" in the Morning. WGHP-TV 8 will soon have 8.2 Antenna TV showing a ton of classic shows (and rare ones) from the 1950`s-1970`s. Would WFMY-TV 2 consider running RTV-Retro Television Network on 2.3??? WFMY 2.2 is all weather. 2.3 is currently empty, but sometimes is activated to show a ball game or something else that is being shown by CBS that WFMY is interruping to show special programming or weather alerts on the main Channel 2. I know that MANY markets across the country now air RTV. It would seem that it would do well here too. I do know that WSPA-TV 7 in Spartanburg, SC now carries RTV on 7.2. They actually KILLED their all-weather channel to air RTV. Any thoughts here about WFMY-TV 2 carrying RTV? Thanks!

Only one Gannett station airs RTV, and that was picked up in a market where RTV was already established and the original affiliate went out of business. I do not foresee Gannett picking it up on WFMY, as Gannett is far more interested in Mobile DTV.

Would you just give it up with this oldies crap? Who the hell would want this? Everyone has digital cable and watches regular channels. Why would anyone would key in on these stupid sub channels re-airing Mr. Ed?

Retro TV?....you don't need networks to make channels to get this programming. It's all over the place. A whole sub channel to run re runs of Mr. Ed and 1950's shows. It's called TV Land. Who in god's name would watch what that lineup that you just described

TV Land doesn't really show anything old anymore. They have Andy Griffith but that's about it. They're even producing first-run sitcoms of their own now.

I just HAVE to chime in reposnse to a couple of these posts. First, I understand if "Staff" doesn`t care for the older shows. That is one reason why Cable Companies like Time-Warner have so many channels to choose from. As far as shows like "Mr. Ed", etc. That IS a demand of these types of shows by alot of viewers! This Network (WXII-TV 12.2) is GROWING across the country!!! They just added the NBC station in my hometown in South Carolina. This Network has being showing "Mr. ED", "Patty Duke", "Highway Patrol", "Sea Hunt", etc. every weekday mornings for over a year now. Yes, Virginia, there is a demand for it!!! RTV Retro TV Network (Not seen in this area) is growing and is now in MOST US markets. They show mostly TV shows from the 1950`s-1980`s. Now, we get to TV Land Network. I poster here just remarked that TV Land "doesn`t show anything old now". WHAT????????????? My dear sir, have you not checked their lineup lately? Let`s see... They start out the weekday at 8 AM showing "All In The Family"- 35-40 years old. Followed by "The Jeffersons" 30-35 years old, Then, "Good Times" the same age. Then, "I Dream Of Jeannie"- 41-49 years old. Followed by "Bewitched" 28-49 years old. Oh yeah, "Sanford And Son"- 35-40 years old is also in there. Then it is around noon, time for "Gunsmoke" 54-36 years old. Followed by multiple episodes of "Bonanza" -50-38 years

And oh yea, the OLD programming continues on TV Land ALL day to around 9 PM, when they do show "Everybody Loves Raymond" and some other newer shows. However, by Midnight, the old shows continue with lots of "Three`s Company"-27-34 years old and "M*A*S*H"- 38-27 years old. How could anyone say that TV Land doesn`t show old shows anymore-LOL!!!! That is most of their lineup!!! "Andy Griffith Show" is now 50 years old!!! And by the way, there is ANOTHER new Oldies TV channel that just started in October!!! It is on Time Warner Cable! It is called "The Hub". They show multiple episodes of each nightly: "Happy Days", "Laverne And Shirley", "Wonder Years", "Batman", "Family Ties", "Doogie Howser", etc. The demand for these shows is GROWING!!! Most of current TV is reality crap, and their ratings show it!
