WOULD YOU LISTEN?

What if someone put on a station in Chicago that played the exact type of music you liked, whether it be hard rock, metal, house
all rap, classical, real jazz, dance or whatever format you would like to see on the air that is not currently on free radio. Now here
is the question would you listen to the station if it was on AM? I asked this after looking at the ratings for Decatur Il. and I noticed
that the number 3 station is Magic 1050, an urban ac music station. Could a music station that fills a void here in the Chicago market
attract listeners and be profitable being on AM. I know if THE ZONE was back, and on AM I would listen.

If i had an HD Radio yes-- but I don't so i would not listen...

Absolutely. The band the station is on makes no difference. As long as the station features programming I like, I would tune it in. I am 32 years old and DO KNOW where the button is that changes from FM to AM and I use it. Some music (old or new) SOUNDS BETTER on AM anyway.

You know I was doing some research. My brother in Dallas told me that 97.1 the Eagle has resurrected. Back in May of 2004 they flipped to "Sunny 97.1", and then Spanish a year later. Now, Dallas being in 5th place in market rank, and bringing back Active rock back, is there any chance that the Zone will come back. I mean come'on Dallas did it why can't Chicago. If rock doesn't come back am moving to Dallas with my brother...LOL

I probably would listen to my potential station on the AM, since I grew up listening to some radio on the AM (primarily WLS) in the late 70's & early 80's. My niece & nephew are another story, as they think sounds on the AM suck. They're under 18, while I'm 34. But I feel sorry for they live now, as most of the stations suck as it is, the market is mostly Class A stations, and partial rimshots.

Only if it streamed with a decent bitrate in stereo on the Internet ... like other stations do. As for listening on AM ... probably not.

No, I will not buy an HD Radio.
