Would you watch a news anchor with a tattoo ??

Today I went to the doctor and I noticed he had a sleeve tattoo. Afterwards I went to the bank and it seems that everyone had tats including the bank manger. A buddy of mine tells me his lawyer had a bunch of tattoos as well.
Anyway it had me thinking why not news anchors ???? I am talking about tattoos ON camera and not a tattoo that is covered up. Would you watch ?? I think I would and besides if a doctor, lawyers and bankers have no problem with tattoos then I don't think TV stations should either.

How do you know they don't have them now? Like on their backside or leg?

Most male anchors wear suits, so that would cover most tattoos. Women anchors are usually conservatively dressed. So it's more a function of their clothing. If they're doing Naked News, we'd probably see more tattoos.

Never seen it. And I watch a ton of local news. Most would not be exposed if they exist. Non-issue.

Yeah aren't going to see the tattoo's on reporters or anchors wouldn't matter to me I would still watch the station for news.

That's why I said "on camera". Brian Bolter who did news for DC's WTTG for years has a few tattoos but you never saw them on WTTG.

Why is it anybody's business to talk about a news host's tattoo's though? Unless its on his face then its none of our business. Or if the talent quit and decided to do a tattoo show on Youtube then its not our problem here.

Personally, I don't see an issue at all. An anchor who has tattoos is almost equivalent as if this person is a smoker/has AIDS/is gay/has one arm, etc. As long as the anchor knows how to act professional and deliver the news appropriately, then I don't see an issue. That is of course if the anchor says "hey, look at my new cool tattoo" and pulls down his pants to show on camera, then that we have a problem

The only obvious and acceptable exception would be an anchor with an anchor tattoo.

the stigma of tattoos on people has been in decline for the last 10 to 15 years. tattoos are becoming more acceptable then it used to, we aren't living in the 1950s anymore.

Close to 20 years ago, I was in research project that involved San Francisco PD officers. I was amazed at how many of them had multiple ear piercings and tattoos...and that was a looonng time ago. Don't know if I'd watch anchor with a face tattoo (they seem to be getting more popular now) - but anywhere else wouldn't bother me.

The problem with tattoos is that they are hard to get rid of. I know a woman who works in the SF DA's office who feels obligated to cover up her old tattoos at work, forcing her to wear closed neck long-sleeve shirts. That's why I've never gotten any...you came come to regret your tattoos.

I don't have a problem with tattoos in themselves, but I do think that people are going overboard when they cover themselves with them, and I have no desire to get any myself.

The main situation where a tattoo might show up is during a remote of a local event or outdoor weather forecast during warm weather where the reporter is wearing a short sleeve shirt for men or sleeveless top for women. But even with that they're usually wearing a polo shirt with the station logo, and I haven't seen anyone with a tattoo showing to my knowledge.

There's also been the situation of female anchors wearing sleeveless tops more, but I still haven't seen any tattoos yet.
