Wouldn't this make more sense for Q102?

From a purely business perspective, does anyone think it might be time for Q102 to surrender the likes of Akon, Bubba Sparxxx, Chris Brown, Dem Franchize Boyz, Juelz Santana, Ne-Yo, and Sean Paul (et al) to WIRED 96.5 and attempt to grab more of the lucrative 25-54 and 18-49 female audience by replacing them with things like the examples below? (They're just examples.)

Bell Biv Devoe/”Poison”
Boyz II Men/”Motownphilly”
Deborah Cox/”Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here”
Deee-Lite/”Groove is In the Heart”
EMF/”Unbelievable”
Everything But The Girl/”Missing”
Fugees/”Killing Me Softly”
Janet Jackson/”Escapade”
LL Cool J/”Mama Said Knock You Out”
Mariah Carey/”Fantasy”
Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch featuring Loleatta Hollaway/”Good Vibrations”
Puff Daddy and Faith Evans featuring 112/”I’ll Be Missing You”
TLC/”No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls”
Whitney Houston/”It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” and “I Will Always Love You”

I agree completely. I would like to see some station in Philly take on the "Movin AC" format. It would fill a niche in the market.

The only problem I forsee is that if we lose Q to a moving format, we may miss out on some of the non rap/hip hop hits they currently play that Wired and The Beat don't play.

I say let Wired and Q battle it out, and switch The Beat to the type of format you are suggesting. The Beat is horrible...not that Wired is much better, it's the lesser of the two evils I suppose.

IMO, looking over some of your titles, if any station took over this format it would be a hit in Philly.

Oh what a conundrum...but come on now. What about all of the new rock music that isn't played when MMR is playing The Who or Led Zeppelin for the billionth time? Ok, yes maybe alternative is dead, and is it not the 90's anymore. But new rock music should be heard somewhere. Radio programmers really need to take some chances, or the hole radio is digging for itself will keep getting deeper. Look at KROQ in LA, always in the Top 5. Rock fans should not have to pay for their music, whether it be $300 for HD or a subscription to Sirius.

Between Wired, Q, and The Beat, there is certainly room for this type of format. I remember when Mix 95.7 touched on this format back in 2003. They were basically a rhythmic-leaning hot AC back then, and all rhythmic at night with Boogie Nights.

If Q102 were to change, wouldn't it be wise of Wired and/or The Beat to pick up the non-rap/non-hip-hop hits of which you speak?
