Wow - CBS is at it again...

This is from the News section of this board... Apparently, WSJT is going to total automation to save $$ by airing BA's Smooth Jazz Network.

CBS Radio hands out pink slips in Tampa
CBS Radio Tampa suffered major cutbacks, with over 15 people losing their jobs. This includes the entire staff of Smooth Jazz WSJT (94.1) and PD Ross Block. That station will now ride with Broadcast Architecture's network feed. Classic Hits WRBQ “Q105” middayer Marvelous Marvin Boone and morning producer/sports anchor and overnight host Marc Haze are out as well. In addition, several off air personnel and sales staffers have been laid off at the cluster.

Is D/FW next? ???

Truthfully, I always thought Russ wasn't too bad as a jock. Perhaps they could team he and Mary Rose to do mornings at KVIL. BTW, I am so excited...I FOUND GENE AND JULIE'S LISTENER! She works right here in my office. A 45-yr old single mom.

Is there an email or something where we can send in our suggestions to CBS on who to let go in Dallas? My list is already formatted in both .doc and .pdf, but do you think an Excel spreadsheet would be more appropriate? Should I keep the list to less than 10 pages? :-*

Aside from the 5 people on the Russ Martin show, who else would you get rid of? I've got an idea how about a powerpoint, you know pictures and transitions and pretty colors. People do have short attention spans after all. :D ;D

The bad news, is that Mary Rose left KVIL a couple of months ago.

The good news, while I'm thinking about this and silently giggling to myself, is how bizarre an idea that would REALLY be, Mike. Maybe Mary Rose could keep Russ Martin down on his toes so hard, he'll be whining and crying like a baby.

To be truthful, I'd like to see ALL of that cluster's executives whine and cry like babies while we, the VERY IMPORTANT LISTENERS (or "VIL's" for short), get what we[/i] want for a change!

And again... :-[

Management cuts hit CBS Radio in Pittsburgh
Five positions gone - Radio-Info has confirmed that "B94" WBZW-FM (93.7) PD Ryan Mill, who had been with the company for 15 years, was cut loose. Along with Mill went station GSM Mike Vennare. Sister-station WZPT-FM (100.7) GSM Mike Sherry and Promotions Director Brandon Davis were among the 3 staffers let go from the Hot AC station. Keith Clark, the VP/Programming for CBS Radio Pittsburgh, will over see B94. Radio-Info is told that Christine McKenna, the GSM of WDSY-FM (107.9), will now also oversee sales at WBZW & WZPT.
