Wow Go Hot 103.9!

I flipped through the dial during the Car Phone Megamix today at 5 and heard "Finally" by CeCe Piniston, and wow was that nice to hear! Just thought i'd express my gratitude to the guys at WHXT for surprising me and bringing butterflies to my stomach. Nice break to hear that instead of the wanna be ballers, thugs, 2 steppers, stunna, and gangsta music all the time.

I wonder if maybe the folks at ICCB are laying off the hard core rap for awhile!!! Since Al and the gang is right in NY where ICCB is I wonder if Hot was told to tone the rap down a bit thus bringing in some older dance friendly tunes in their place... CC1

I wish that was the case Carroll, dont get me wrong because I am a universal music fan. I love hip-hop music and listen to it on a daily basis, but it gets so old and repetitive, and lacks the ooh wow factor that used to make people feel good. Now its all about getting in that club/crunk attitude and acting stupid. Granted Im ok with that too, but ALL the time?? I wish Columbia had a Rhythmic Top 40 like WIBT Charlotte and played everything from Christina Aguilera to Keith Sweat to 50 cent and Pink and throw in some freestyle, dance, house, and hip-hop classics. What I dont understand nationwide is we've had many classic rock stations all over for about 15 to 20 years, but what about a Classic Rhythm station? I'm not talking about the Movin and Rhy AC stations that mix in new stuff and play the same ol same ol over and over. What about a great Classic Rhythm station that plays music back from the disco era all the way til about 93-94 when there was really great dance, hip-hop music out there. Sorry to get on my soapbox, but it's small things like playing a simple classic dance track that opens your mind to a lot of possibilities. In a way, I am glad hip-hop is being looked at so closely because while it's listenable and good to dance to, it sucks bad today if u compare it to the old school and golden era of the genre. I hope this takes it back in the right direction, and that it could be fun for everyone again.

Hey Neil check out slacker radio they have some pretty good music formats on there to listen to... They will be rolling out their version of satellite radio, but it also uses WI-FI... All the music is streamed at 128Kbps and sounds very good... I like there classic dance format, but it fits my age group pretty good... check em' out slacker.com. CC1

What I wish someone would make is an Internet Car Radio Where I could pick up all these internet Streams in my car. I would never get tired of the music and would never run out of stations

103-9 did it again today! During the 5:00 mix, Sean Kingston's new song "Beautiful Girls", (which has the "Stand By Me" beat from the Drifters), transitioned right into the Drifters song "Stand By me"! Talk about a nice surprise, some super old school!
