I thought I might like the new morning show at RKO, but wow: it's like listening to a bunch of old men sitting around a coffee shop hogging all the good tables and trying to get that one cup of decaf to stretch into the afternoon.

LOL, he was talking about how Gore uses 20 times more energy than the average household, but he does a lot of good things too, like he uses fluorescent light bulbs. It was awful radio.
 
So how long does David Lee Finneran last? Does WRKO have anyone on deck in their roster?
 
I think Finneran is getting better. He tends to the wonkish, but today he was getting a lot of callers on an issue about a girl saying something or other was "gay" and getting in trouble for that. He's astute enough to understand what will get a response and what will not, and I would suspect he'll improve accordingly. When he does lead a discussion such as the one mentioned, he is highly informed and articulate. His depth of local knowledge is also a plus in my opinion.

He'll get it soon enough. I think he was optimistic to believe that anyone would be ready for a legislative policy debate at 7:00 a.m., and I think he is already beginning to favor that which draws callers.
 
How long before he lifts one from Jerry Williams and starts a sex survey ::)

What's wrong with that? The word "gay" means happy -- that is the original dictionary definition. Somehow it's gotten confused with the word "homosexual" which is something else entirely. On the other hand, it's easy to mistake "axe" for ask.
 
some of you people make me laugh. WRKO is broken. Ya think by hiring Felon Finneran suddenly it's going to be a true "talk" station?

Casablanca & I have a bit of knowledge about these things, but few of you choose to listen to reality.

I haven't tuned in to WRKO in weeks. There's nothing there. They might as well spin Rush Limbaugh 24/7, it is not going to make a difference. The station is in desperate need of the Red Sox.
