WOW WEE Here Are My Trend Thoughts

Well the Phases are out and The Big DM is on top... Way to go for ICCB... I wonder how much Steve Harvey and Michael B helped them... What the heck has happen to WCOS... Looks like Q and New are doing to COS what Double O hoped they would do... If you took those two stations ratings and combined them they are giving COS a nice spanking... Clear Channel Columbia should be embarrassed for COS poor ratings... When you have been brought down by two pea shooters you have major issues... Speaking of stations that are not doing good what about B 106... I know it is just a phase and 12+, but Citadel should be concerned... OTOH Kiss is doing pretty decent and deserves a better stick... Switch B and Kiss and lets see what happens with DM and Kiss... It could be fun... Looks like ARQ rebounded a little... OK I will hush an let you guys give your thoughts... CC1

Good observations Carroll, wouldn't that be some market drama if Kiss moved to 106.7? B could move to 103.1 as B103 and change 98.5 to Magic 98.5-oldies. Ok there I go trying to change things, lol. I was also shocked at WCOS's numbers as well. Ouch! DM is def the top daddy in this race as well as WXBT. Wouldn't it be something if the Beat moved to a full market signal covering Orangeburg, Newberry, Sumter, and all points of Columbia. That would def be something. 97-5 the beat? Nah just KIDDING! LoL

WCOS and WTCB---100kw signals--that far down the totem pole. Yeah, something is wrong. As far as WCOS goes, I think there must be something else wrong besides the fact that they have competition. WTCB, IMHO, has almost never lived up to it's potential. What would you guys do to fix these two 100kw signals which should be kicking ass?

I refuse to believe WCOS's numbers are real. Double O's stations are not thriving, so you can't say it's just that. There MUST be some diary placement issues. Same with WTCB. We can speculate all you want, but neither of these stations are going to change formats. I expect them to both rebound.

Well, the Big DM should be a textbook example of how to do bad radio. Two terrible syndicated programs during major listening periods and HUGE advertising loads the rest of the day. I'm sure they're making tons of money. Hopefully they'll get their groove back soon, as they have in the past. OTOH, I see WBAV in Charlotte is way up with Harvey and Baisden also...

I agree that they're probably not going to change formats....just wondering...what kind of other changes would you guys make to put these stations on top?

Just looking at 12+, looks like WVOC (talk) and WMFX (rock) got a kiss, so this could be a mega-male trend, which could explain at least this trend.

I haven't fully digested the numbers. However, Toby Knapp's last trend as PD was a great goobye kiss as he left for DC. We'll see how things change under new leadership.

B1067 is still pretty healthy. There are a couple other stations that have problems both in and out of demo.

Question whether the novelty of Steve-FM is wearing off.
