Wow

Looking at the recent threads here...the board is sounding pretty well...

2 threads about stations that are off the air.
1 or 2 mention stations that have been abandoned.
Alot of 'remember the 50s? 60s? 70s?

One post on a thread even takes it back to 1925.

This is the most topical stuff in carolina radio?

Wow.

Dont get me wrong, I love a little history...but out of the 10 or so last threads..

ham & a buicuit, 4 of the last threads had oldies in the SN of the poster. some of the other posts were about abandoned stations. I'm going to hold my breath until a high school grad posts on this site wondering what courses in college would best suit them for broadcast or satellite radio. I'm already blue in the face.

Honestly I wouldnt mind a thread from a high school student. If somebody is interested in pursuing a career in the industry I wont be the type to discourage them with all the CC, consolidation, VT, laptop radio, 'back in the 60's when there were real djs on air' crap, that so many will and do. Granted it is the current state of radio, but there is enuff out there for a kid today to get their freq on. ;)

As for classes for such a prospect? Bong Hits 101 was a fav of mine back in the day. then get yer hands on a copy of Adobie Audition and Pro Tools. Learn to pimp the s#!t out of it. Grab intership at a station whose format fits your listening and jocking styles. Have fun with it.

But, have a back up plan.

You can breathe homie, we just beat 'High School Kid' to the punch. ;)
