Really enjoyed listening to 82 year old Bob Chase call the game from nearby Wheeling, WV recently.
Like you I could rarely get WOWO since they dropped their power. Not sure what has changed
recently. Perhaps WLIB is running at lower power than before?
Listening to Chase took me back to being a kid and a hockey fan in the days before ESPN.
At that time WOWO was a very reliable catch on almost any night of the year, and was generally
as strong as local. Spent many a night huddled with my transistor listening as they took on the
Flint Generals, Saginaw Gears or Kalamazoo K-Wings.

Hard to believe that Bob Chase is 82 years old! That is so cool! He sounded in top form last evening. I can't believe that I once visited the WOWO transmitter site in '96 (and actually saw the "World Famous WOWO Fire Escape")! It's a beautiful transmitter site to see. I had the pleasure seeing "George", the backup Westinghouse transmitter that was still functional at the time. I wonder if WOWO streams Komets Hockey. I'll have to check!
