WOWO's Standards Slipping???

OK as a race fan I was actually glad when I realized that Fort Wayne would have GREAT FM coverage of the Indy 500 (as I find ABC TV's coverage interrupted too much by those damn commercials...) BUT...

At the top of the 1 o'clock and 3 o'clock hours (after where a newscast would be) the Kim Komando Show popped up, cutting off the LIVE Indy coverage. I checked on WZBD 92.7 and THEY NEVER LEFT THE IMS RADIO NETWORK.

So, I have to wonder...WHO'S MINDING THE BOARD??? A LIVE EVENT...even if the network has a good reputation and has run without a human nearby "just in case," it's INDY. THE INDIANAPOLIS 500. If I was minding the store, I'd have somebody there for that, LISTENING TO MY ON AIR PRODUCT. As a race fan, I'm PISSED. This happened during ABC commercial time, when the race was green. Ugh...
 
You worked for Federated. You understand that they pay for board operators when it's a significant event. TinCaps/Wizards before that. Komets. Mad Ants/Fury before that.

I'm told the Indy 500 had a live board operator behind the giant WOWO board. Perhaps the blame lays elsewhere, unless anyone thinks a weekender has control over the program log design on the automation system.
 
I would think that if somebody had been trained to run board for an event like the 500, they'd have been shown how to keep the automation from taking over. I guess it was overlooked. Maybe FedMed was making a statement for putting on their new sports mega-network. I don't know...I just got mad when it happened. But I did have it on TV - however - I will state this: I HATE ABC's talent for IndyCar. NBC Sports has it down better, even though Bob Jenkins will leave the net at the end of the IndyCar season.

A well placed spy (not a medium rare placed spy) said that the problem was different than an incompetent human or a faulty automation system.

The satellite system had issues (on Federated's end). I'm told that's what caused the hornet's nest.
 
I got hot that day because the race was GOOD...and I wanted the info.
Judgement at the time should have been to wait until after the race was done and then post a "Anybody know what the hell happened down there on Maples Rd.??" question rather than what I did. (I watched the race again today from the IMS website; that's how committed to IndyCar I am.) I need a life. ;D
 
It appears that Gregg Henson's talk show on WOWO is no more.

Hannity has moved into the 3-6 slot. Wonder if Henson's departure from FedMed is far behind.

He's a stunt.
A waste.
Adios bad flavor. WOWO can do better.
 
Henson's been a train wreck in this gig.

He should cancel plans to buy a house in the Fort. He'll soon be leaving.

He picked the wrong market for such stunts. Now had this been Columbus, OH, with a major university in the market such a "strategy" may have made sense, but not in Ft. Wayne.
 
That must hurt for Henson, with his sports background, for this to happen right as FedMed gets ready to launch new sports talkers...
 
FedMed gave Henson his walking papers this week.

I thought he had learned his lesson elsewhere and would play this gig low key.

I was wrong. I wonder how much of what he did will be undone, and when.
 
I stopped trusting WOWO when whomever's managing their social media feeds posted a link to a profanity laden political rant by some nut who apparently does not know what real political discourse is suppose to look like.
