Well,According to yes.com it looks like WOYE Magic 97.3 Has gone all English AC Music?
In the past Magic 97.3 Usually plays Spanish AC and then A couple of English AC Songs about 4 or 5 songs in a hour.Well,I went to yes.com and it looks like their 100 top songs they are all in english and theres not any spanish songs? I currently dont live in Puerto Rico but im from Puerto Rico and travel there alot. I was just wondering if anybody that Currently Lives there to please Comfirm this.If it is that they have switched to all English Songs Im so Happy that means that Puerto Rico now has a Full English Station ??? ???

PS:By the way I've Looked at yes.com Log for this Station for the past 24 hours and all the songs are English AC songs. ???

Thanks,
Christian

It's now almost 100% English music, but announcing, ads, etc. are all in Spanish. This may have to do with the change in ownership late last year, and the very low ratings this station has been getting.

Stations in Latin America that play 100% English music are very common in big cities.

Thanks David You Have answered my Question!! ;)

Nother Question?? So you think this will help them get them some Higher Ratings and of Course more Listeners? Or What do you think?

No, the interest in English music is at an all time low in PR.

David, why would that be? I would have thought that one station would have done well.

English CHR music is very limited in appeal in Latin America today because there is so little pop, which is the variety that makes it in Spanish speaking nations... too much of CHR is urban leaning rhythmic or hip hop, which does not do well at all.

Since broad based CHRs in PR, like WKAQ-FM which plays English pop, as well as Spanish hits of all kinds, cover the good songs, there is no need for an all-English CHR. English oldies and AC are also at a low everywhere... about the only thing that works is English language rock, which continues to be quite well received... although not in PR.

It's weird how English language Rhythmic/Pop does very well in Brazil, where Portugese is spoken, while in most of thest of Latin America that is not the case.

The non-Hip hop stuff is heard all across Latin America.
