WOYK-1350

Audio was dropping out about every 5 seconds when I was listening between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM
Is this an unattended operation ? Does management or Engineering even monitor their signal ??

Obviously, someone is out to lunch or doesn't care. This is a small-time operation. It hasn't changed in years.

Are they still running Yahoo Sports?

In the Central PA region, it seems almost every upper AM station is Sports...

1600 Elizabethtown...ESPN
1490 Lancaster...Fox
1460 Harrisburg...Fox
1440 Manchester Twp....ESPN
1400 Harrisburg...ESPN
1350 York...Yahoo
1320 Gettysburg...Fox
1240 Reading....ESPN

Has anyone flipped to CBS or NBC Sports, or have they all stayed with their original networks?

At one time, all these stations had live DJs and local programming... But that's in the past.

I was an 'OYK jock once upon a long time ago..

That would go back at least 15 years, perhaps as much as 30. I can beat that, however. I was a WZIX jock from 1975-79. Cue to Mr. Loeper...

When you fellows were broadcasting from downtown York,I do remember an older fellow would come up from Baltimore and do the morning show.He was billed as the "morning mayor"!
Can't recall his name.

WOYK (former WORK) used to be York's top primary station back in the 40's and early 50's. I used to visit there with my father back in the late 60's when they were located on South Beaver Street. It was an old, but nice set up. Too bad they've become what they are now.

I was trying to listen to the "Dan Patrick show" this morning between 11:15 AM and 11:30 AM and it was quite frustrating to say the least.Their transmitter was tripping every five to ten seconds.DXing sounded like a "Spanish" station also on 1350.
What a way to run a broadcasting facility!
