WPAZ kudos

On a recent visit to the Pottstown area (close enough for the Reading/Allentown board), I had the opportunity to sample the AM band in the area. Philly is a total disaster. WEEU was very good. Ibuzz wiped out WEST 1400, 1230. bye-bye as well to 1340, and MANY others. But the winner in Hi-Fi sound was WPAZ 1370.

That station has sounded rough for years, using a badly adjusted 1972 CCA Transmitter and Texar Audio Prisms. I don't know what they're diong now, but it sounded wonderful. Kudos. Herb would be happy. Speaking warmly of Mr. Scott...

I wonder if they still play the Nationa Anthem and kill the carrier after the last logged spot of the day airs? Are they using their post sunset low power authority?

I had a chance to listen to PAZ yesterday, for the first time in a while. WOW! What a difference!!! Now, no more tinty oldies. Actually, the station signs off at 7PM (except for Sundays, I believe, at 6), regardless of local sundown time.
