At that power level, and with today's AM noise floor, plus co-channel chatter, figure a MAX of 10 miles from the Upper Pottsgrove tower site, on a good night, for a reliable, listenable signal...and that's being generous. Can it be picked up there at night, probably. Is it listenable without a Hallicrafters, Grundig or Hammerlund? Doubtful. Let's face it. The 52 watts is designed to allow it to cover the COL at night WITHOUT skywave. And it does just that. And not much more.
Daytime, it's crystal clear there at 1kw, even to Downingtown. But not at 52.
