WPBM's "Music Blimp" Sounds Great!

Finally, after all of this mess since on my previous thread about the show stinks, I finally got a chance to listen to the "Music Blimp" on Classic Hits 92.9 and it sounded great, they played some good sounding new wave music from the late 70's through the early 90's and it sounds lot better that brings back to my childhood from the 80's as well as growing up in the 90's. This is one of my favorite show and Randy Turnip sounded great every Saturday night. It is one of my favorite speciality shows ever made.

I did posted a number of airchecks from this past weekend on another board which is "Aircheck Collectors" (or on a different radio forum) where it was recorded off the radio and even off of steam which is the "Streaming On-Demand" commercial free edition which is on that link.

I hope if I can keep posting those airchecks every Saturday night to hear the "Music Blimp" and it is an excellent show. I can't wait to hear it.

OK... so now I'm confused, Disney ....

If I read your post correctly (which is always impossible to do), you excessively bashed the Music Blimp show when Mr. TURNER put it on the air on WBPM - apparently without having ever heard it!

Now ... after it's been on the air for 9 months, you have finally listened to it and you love it. You stated your opinion of it now is that "it sounded great" and that Randy "played some good new wave" and that "this is one of [your] favorite shows".... and then ... you insult the man (as many others have done here) by calling him "Mr. Turnip"!?!?!

What did this guy ever do to you that would make you call him a derogatory and insulting name like that?? How can you tell everyone on this board (paraphasing here) that you've found a new appreciation for his programming and hosting of The Music Blimp and without blinking an eye you smack him down by calling him that insulting name? Your posting privilidges here should be revoked.

Now, standby for warm590 to jump in and continue bashing Mr. Turner. Don't you people have lives?!?!

It's nice to be wanted!! ;D

Sure is a fine day!! ;D

You should be asking that question to the poster(s) who consistantly defend Rain Man Turnip. Maybe if he didn't always sound like he was strung out on crack we wouldn't poke fun? Nahhh :p

Thanks for the comment "warmdisney929". "Music Blimp" has been on WBPM for the past 9 months beginning in October of 2007, and then, a few months later, I finally listened to the show and it was great and does play some New Wave and Alternative Rock songs from the late 70's, 80's and early 90's and they picked the right songs on a specialty show.

Randy Turner (or Randy Turnip) does a great job hosting a specialty show on Saturday nights, it is a fun show. I've been posting some airchecks from the "Music Blimp" both here and on another radio forum and it is a lot of fun when it comes to New Wave music. I guess some posters are bashing about Randy Turnip and a few others who didn't like the show at all, and guess what? I love the show. I guess Randy keeps up the good work for his next show this Saturday. It's right after "Backtrax 80's" show. it's from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Keep on listening.

Since for those of you who haven't heard this past weekend, they played Gin Blossoms "Found Out About You" and Toad the Wet Sprocket's "Walk On the Ocean". Both of these songs are from 1992. I remember one time they played "Return to Innocence" by Enigma from 1993 and it was featured in the final scene of a 1995 Disney film "Man of the House" with Chevy Chase and Jonathan Taylor Thomas where they had a wedding scene on the harbor. And after that, the credits started to roll. "Man of the House" was one of my favorite Disney movies.

To get back to the "Music Blimp" though, it was a excellent show, but I will look forward to hear more every Saturday night and I record it and post it whenever I can after the show is done on the "Aircheck Collectors" section on this and on another radio forum. Keep on listening.

Hmmm I got slapped twice for referring to mr turner by the other name (HORR0RS!!), but it seems others can get away with it.....same hmmmmm.........

Slightly off the topic, sorry...

what gas is used in the music blimp?? Wait maybe it's hot air; Mr Turner seeems to have an endless supply.....

Go ahead now...

590buddy ;D

Can't get enough of that Muzak Blimp. And every time you call him "Randy Turnip" I moisten myself!
