WPDE Newscast HD

I know this is the SC Radio board but their isn't a SC TV board so I just post it here.

I noticed this morning that WPDE has a new news set and the newscast are in HD. They are the last to go in HD in the Myrtle Beach TV market.

For another TV market the Charleston Market isn't Live 5 News the only one in HD still?

Here in Charleston WCSC is still the only station with its local news in HD. In the Grand Strand/Pee Dee market, WBTW, whose 11pm news I watch over-the-air 4 or 5 nights per week, is still not doing its local news in HD. 16:9 aspect ratio yes, but HD no.

Isn't 16:9 aspect ratio still HD ? Looks sharp on my flat screen TV. Same as WMBF newscast which is in HD.

As for WPDE its not all true HD a LIVE report wasn't in HD was zoomed in as I notice when they went to commerical it was still in zoom mood as commerical graphics were cut out.

WBTW is the only station I am aware whose local news is 16:9 but not HD. All other 16:9s I can receive here - WCSC-47, WOLO-8 (Columbia); WJCL-22 (Savannah); WTEV-19 (Jacksonville, Florida); and sometimes WCTV-46 (Thomasville, Georgia) and WMBF-32 - proclaim to show their local news in HD, and their pictures, as displayed on our SONY 52-inch, are decidedly more vivid and clear than I see on WBTW's local news. Notice that WBTW never says its local news is in HD.
