WPDH Streaming Update

I was told by a WPDH staff employee they hope to start their streaming this coming weekend...
I hope this doesn't turn out to be a April Fools joke as April Fool's is over the weekend. I have asked why no mention on WPDH's website but no comment was given on that question.

The start of WPDH'S live web stream is something which has supposed to start shortly for the last year. I'll believe it, when I hear it!!

I don't see no reason why I would be given false information about their radio station..they do want to attract as many listeners as possible so giving false info. Would certainly hurt their image.

Speaking of streaming. I heard recently that the RIAA had gone to Federal court over streaming royalties and that a Federal judge approved a plan that would raise streamng licensing fees significantly. This is expected to take affect in the next couple of months. Has anyone else heard about this? Any news? From what I understand this could end streaming as we know it.

In an article appearing on All Access http://www.allaccess.com/titled "SoundExchange: Recording Artists Champion Fair Royalties recording artists from across the country announced their "enthusiastic support" for the new digital royalty rates ...If music adds commercial value to someone's site, then there is a monetary value due the writers and recording artists," said JODY STEPHENS of BIG STAR and GOLDEN SMOG""
The piece gives further details as to their reasoning. It is similar to demands made by actors in commercials a few years ago that caused many stations to back away from streaming .It has been making a comeback sans most of the ads .The artists organizations want the payments to go back to January 2006 .This latest issue could be why WPDH is holding off streaming . Hopefully this issue can be reasonably resolved ,fairly to all involved , and streaming can move forward .I think one question the radio stations must ask themselves how much of that ' value' are they adding to their station if everybody is doing it.

Yes seems like all 3 stations are streaming however WPDH and The Wolf 94.3 & 97.3 are streaming but not getting any sound sound there...they might still be testing...WCZX is streaming fine...Any other Pendell Rd stations streaming not listed here ?

It appears that all of the Pendell Rd stations are now streaming.

Correction there are more then 2 DJs on WBPM..there's only 2 DJs listed for them on their website though...

Anyone know if WBNR/WLNA or WGHQ plan to stream as well ?

The site's back up - http://www.wbpmfm.com/stream.php

Since they use a flash player, it's kind of hard to get the backdoor URL. If I didn't have to rush to work, I could try and get it. Maybe tonight when I get home :D
