Can someone tell me what the point is...WPEN does traffic...OK what they really do is they announce traffic on ONE road...Usually the Surekill Expressway or maybe Vine St Expressway then do the sponsor and then off to spots. Seriously...ONE road? Why bother. It does not serve the listener and I can't imagine that is serves the advertiser...
 
Sounds more like an advertisement cleverly disguised as a traffic report, more or less...
 
I agree but would seem better to actually have a spot there vs the chatter about one road for 20 seconds and then a 10 second plug. Give me the 30 second spot.
 
Sometimes it sounds more like a 20 second plug and 10 seconds of traffic, but c'est la vie. It's all in whether the packages offered meet the advertisers' needs. If they like what they're getting (and for the right price), it may work better than an alternative.
