WPEN's FSR morning show

From listening over the past several weeks, FSR "First Team" with Steve Zaban(sp?) is a far superior morning show to WIP's mindless chatter. I actually find the FSR show really funny and fast paced with great guests, etc. Will this morning show be successful in Philly. From what I hear its pretty big elsewhere. I just feel the talent of the morning team make Angelo, Al and Rhea sound small market

I haven't heard the show yet, but even if they are better, they will never beat WIP. National sports talk doesn't work in this town. WPEN would have a great shot at overtaking WIP if they were all local. Having said that, I think the national hosts that are on WPEN are good. I forgot how entertaining Tony Bruno is, and Jim Rome is good. Plus, the guy they have on from 10P-2A, JT The Brick, is very good as well. If WPEN had to go mostly national, at least they picked some good hosts.

Let's not forget that someone at GM had the presence of mind to put Jody Mac back on the air. His show is all local and worth listening to. Personally I thought it was a cool thing one morning when I was listening to the Fox Sports radio network's morning show, which WPEN starts off with. So it comes out of DC I believe, and Steve Zaban was taking phoners about T.O and he got one from Jody MAC from WPEN.It was just cool to hear a syndicated show take a phoner from the station that is broadcasting the very same show. I can see this format working for Greater Media.
