WPEN's new Monday-Friday schedule is released

So, they just added Dan Patrick and now they're dropping him. Interesting.

I still think it's kind of odd that they're not picking up Stephen A. Smith's one-hour national show, considering he's a former Philadelphia Inquirer columnist.

I do like that they're local from 9a-1p and in afternoon drive. But not having a local show on the Monday after an Eagles game is going to hurt them.

Regardless of the fact that he might be leaving his show behind, as per the abpve post, please explain to me the point of picking up a 1-hour show?? I don't care if the guy doing the show is the best columnist the Inky ever saw.

I don't know. Apparently ESPN thinks there's a point in running the one hour show, so the same point (whatever it might be) would justify an affiliate picking it up. The point is, the guy is interesting to listen to, even if only for an hour. (That's not my personal opinion. I can't stand him. But others apparently can).

Aren't they still carrying his show on delay tape at 11 PM?

GREATER MEDIA IS FULL OF PUDDIN HEAD BOSSES WHO SIMPLY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING! GREATER MEDIA EXECS DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. THEIR BEAN COUNTERS WON'T LET THE P-D'S SETTLE IN AND PROMOTE A FORMAT IF DOESN'T SHOW ALMOST IMMEDIATE AUDIENCE RESULTS . WPEN HAS BEE A REVOLVIN' DOOR FOR YEARS. MANY FORMATS COULD'VE WORKED BUT DIDN'T BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER A CHANCE. THE OTHER PROBLEM WPEN HAS IS A POR SIGNAL. IT HAS A POOR COVERAGE AREA AND ALMOST NONE AT WORK.

They should stop that and air something local during that time period.

Or at least something live. Airing sports shows at 11 p.m. that were taped early that morning before the games that just ended is the height of stupidity.

So does this mean they really aren't going back to standards or real oldies?
