WPEN's NEW Website!!!

> I guess only "fake" sports fans listen to 610 WIP!
> no, just the ones who want to b**ch, moan and gripe about which team has better stats and what terrel owens did this week. Maybe on 950 we'll hear less about the eagles and more about the other philly teams like the phillies, and the flyers, and the sixers and the wings, and to a lesser degree the new outdoor lacrosse team, the Philadelphia Barrage ( who won their championship last year)

Well, this COULD be the site of KJR in Seattle. AFAIK, Seattle has only one sports-talk station, KJR 950, 50 kW-U DA-2. Despite the large number of 50-kW AMs in Seattle, KJR has arguably the best AM signal in the market. Salem's KGNW 820, with which KjR is diplexed runs 5 kW at night. I believe that KJR has been sports talk "forever," though, so the "New" and the allusion to other sports-talk stations ("real" vs fake) doesn't really fit. I'm not sure who owns KJR but I think it's CCU. I think CCU picked up KJR as part of its acquisition of Ackerley four or five years ago.

The only reson 610 talks about the Eagles all the time is becuase this is a football town. WPEN will be the same way, WHEN ITS LOCAL because you will have the same people that listen to 610 check out WPEN. Especially when it is debuting on October 3rd right in the heart of Football season. I hope, but highly doubt that there will be baseball come October 3rd so you wont be hearing Phillies talk, you may hear some Flyers talk since the season will start two days later and so many people are anticipating Peter Forsberg's debut, but for the most part it will be Eagles, Eagles, and more Eagles. Remember though some if not most of the shows will be national so you are going to hear more than just football talk.

Hey knucklehead, if you went to the web site you'd see it clearly states "With Jody Mac and Jim Rome... More players to be announced soon." Clearly it's not in Seattle. Next time do your homework (aka "click the link") before wasting our time by showing off how much you know about Seattle radio.

NO link appears on my screen! NONE. All I see is the graphic (logo) on an otherwise blank screen. I could not find anyplace on or off the logo on which a click had any effect. I can't tell you how sorry I am that you had to waste maybe 30 seconds writing your post and displaying your own arrogance. However, I bet that writing that post really made you feel superior, so your time was probably well spent.
