Your "old" station did well, olhankster, because it was (and is) well-programmed... not to mention the heritage factor involved with it. In fact, it did better in Spring 2006 without the Christmas cheer, than it did in Fall 2005, which was huge. 100,000 watts doesn't hurt, either.
But then, if you're talking ratings, it all boils down to who gets the diaries and how many get sent back to Arbitron. You just gotta love the way a couple of hundred people out of about a quarter-million determine a radio station's place in the "pecking order" for 6 months.
