WPFR 1480

Passing through Terre Haute the other day, I was surprised to hear 1480 playing a mix of oldies & adult standards. Then later that evening, it was back to it's normal parallel to Christian formatted 93.9. Is there a format change in the works or have they always had this "split personality"?

I think they have a live DJ in the afternoon and satellite religion at other times. Don't listen to the old WTHI that often these days.

Nice to hear this station getting back to it's roots of rock n' roll, albeit just on a part time basis, from what I understand. I was in Terre Haute for a weekend wedding in June and was pleasantly surprised to hear the 1480 frequency back to the way it used to be way back when. Back in the mid-60's...seems like they referred to the jocks as "The Air Force" or was that WBOW 1230? It was classic AM Top 40 warfare between those two.
