Why did BAS not LMA along with Tiffin and Sandusky?

Could a deal be in the works to sell it right after they close?

Perhaps the same fate with TTF?

Simple. The Sandusky and Tiffin stations were by themselves. WPFX shares a facility with WCKY, which makes an LMA a LOT more complicated, so it wasn't done.

If someone offers the right amount of money (or more), I'm sure that could be arranged. You making an offer? ;)

Is the Clear Channel / BAS Sandusky Tiffin Findlay sale about to close?

Heard that, soon after the closing, we’ll have a new owner for WTTF and that BAS has spun Findlay’s WPFX.

Can anyone confirm?

With a local airstaff totalling 2 whole human people for the 3 stations in their tourist town with a rainy summer predicted & gas going up to $4.00 soon, who wouldn't wanna jump on a goldmine like that & advertise on automated stations? ::) Maybe fax the voice trackers in Omaha brochures on Cedar Point so they know what coasters/traffic/campgrounds to lie about on their voice tracks to make it sound "local"? ::) Sounds like San-Town ain't what it used to be radio-wise :-[.

Ive heard multiple things passed around the radio community.

BAS likes Sandusky, they will keep their Fremont and Mt. Vernon operations, and in all honesty..they can treat 100.9 and 1600 almost as sister stations in respect to Seneca County. WTTF will probably remain in the same stable as Bas.

Findlay is just too far out there to them, and PFX doesnt make sense for their operations. However, EMF has been bugging the folks in San An for the release of WCKY. I heard at one point that EMF was throwing around the upper 2 mill number and CC balked at the offer.

Maybe they went back to the drawing board and decided to offer money for 107.7?

Upper $2M won’t get San An to sell CKY.

EMF could have interest in 107.7 - you think?

Did you see how cheap Blueberry got 17 stations in Maine for? Wow! Sounds like to me, the peeps at Clear Channel just want to get the hell outta dodge!

WPFX closing (along with WTTF and the Sandusky stations) is Monday (6/30). Should be an interesting day. ::)
That's the day they'll axe everyone but the Fed Ex guy & hire about 20 salespeople to try to sell the, ahem, "product". Can't even listen on line anymore so I have no idea what they did to 100.9 & Mojo & Randy Evans but I recall when they fired everyone else last Feb/March. It only gets worse! Better get the tapes :D, I mean, c.d's & resumes out there FAR, FAR away from "Good Ole' Boy Radio"!

Is there the feeling that BAS will keep 1077fm light AC?

Could they plan to turn and sell off to another operator?

Will they keep studios over in Findlay?

What ever happens its gonna be something from ABC radio Networks. Classic rock or possibly Country? With Eagle 99 no point of keeping it AC.

Two songs that seem appropriate for WPFX right now...

Hello darkness, my old friend,
Ive come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

AND...

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Flying there-under, under the sea!

Don't understand? You will... ;)

BAS closed - BAS sold.

Sources say 1077 is off air - the move is on.

Yeah, every listener will be "a Flippin'" on something else. Heard AM 1450 up in Vacationland had plenty of dead air during their "noon news" hour, er, HALF hour today too,(half hour) because when the News/Sports guy goes on vacation there's no one to replace him in the live portion of the Noon hour-so just play the sat. feed instead because BAS is too broke to have anyone replace him, or better yet just turn off the transmitter :D. Sounds like a top notch operation having more interns running the place than employees. Live & local my foot...more like tracked & slave labor! :D

Fallout shelter or whatever your screen name was. This company pulled the plug on an FM in a growing market. Now thats what I call STUPID!

I know that BAS has no radio experience, but come on!!!!

I hear that WPFX could get into the hands of Findlay Publishing (using a sub name). Or it could go K-Love

Other BAS Shoes Drop

Thanks to the folks at AllAccess, we can "clear the books" on the Findlay/Tiffin side of the BAS Broadcasting purchases from Clear Channel.

The trade site reports that BAS is flipping both WPFX/107.7 North Baltimore/Findlay and WTTF/1600 Tiffin to different owners.

From Ohio media watch. Former Buzz 106.5 owner has steped up to the plate.
