WPFX-FM

Not to make mention but I bet this made Miss Fields piss her pants. She wasnt expecting a move like that.

107.7 can remain a North Baltimore station but can move onto a tower just north of Bowling Green (Im assuming WRQN). Just speculating here, could this be greasing the wheels for a much larger buyout when CC dumps the Toledo cluster?

Also, just to note. WCKY is first looking for COL change to Pemberville, but they can downgrade to a Class A signal and move into a tower on the southside as well.
 
There is no way to move a Class A signal north of BG and expect to put city grade over North Baltimore. City grade is 70dBu, not 60.

I'm sure Miss Field (no "s" at the end) has more important things on her mind than a station that is no longer her concern. Why would she care about a station that no longer makes her money? Didn't see the need for the unecessary jab since it really had nothing to do with the topic being discussed.
 
I was referring to WPFX, which looked to me that you were commenting on, until your WCKY blurb.

Thanks to the folks at AllAccess, we can "clear the books" on the Findlay/Tiffin side of the BAS Broadcasting purchases from Clear Channel.

The trade site reports that BAS is flipping both WPFX/107.7 North Baltimore/Findlay and WTTF/1600 Tiffin to different owners.

Oddly enough, two people named "Dudley" (Dudley Stephen and Daniel Dudley) headed the two ownership groups that bought WPFX and WTTF.

Note that WTTF was sold to Tiffin Broadcasting, but BAS will continue to operate the station via an LMA. It, like WLEC and WMVO, also carries ABC/Citadel's "Timeless" channel... and now, little else locally outside of mornings...
 
I found it interesting, the new owner of WTTF-AM is none other that Doug Stephen of "Good Day". I think BASProShop had mentioned something about him having connections to Tiffin U.

Ironically "Good Day" is aired on WMVO and soon to be aired on WLEC and WTTF as well...hmmm
 
I believe all BAS stations should get rid of the live morning jocks. Why bother confusing the listener into thinking someone's really there the other 20 hours a day? Why not just be honest & let the listeners know it's not real radio? The average person doesn't know why they can make a request to a jock who answers the studio line at 10 minutes 'til 10am & gets it played, but if they call at 10 after 10 it either rings & rings or it's off the hook. If you're gonna be generic it may as well be 100% generic!
 
nightfly61, your so right. I dont think BAS understands the concept of radio in the first place except how to squeeze a 50 dollar bill out of a quarter.

Not to mention having their studios like a slave labor camp where they've got more interns than Programming staff running around getting paid nothing but a sunburn & a signature on their studio time sheet for school. "Maybe if I intern here long enough they'll put me on my very own radio show...oh wait...there are no real radio shows here" :D BAS are like the Menudo of radio...once the interns grow up and wise up & move on they'll just keep replacing them with new free interns that sound like they're dropouts from a college station. Talk about a crock.
 
Rumor is that 1077 is off air until new studios and tower location are secured.

Stephen also has some personal connections with BAS chairman Tom Klein as well, so it doesn't surprise me. His show apparently aired in the early mornings on WTTF prior to 2005... as a lead-in to Jason Aldrich. WMVO airs it from 6a - 9a (or 4a - 9a... do they still carry First Light?) preceeding local programming.

Speaking of which, Aldrich apparently departed from WTTF some time ago, and was succeeded by former midday host Russ Snyder.
 
Aldrich is in Lima. I guess WPFX could be back soon. Don'tcha think there's enough tower space available to support an antenna that will cover North Baltimore and still move the signal well north of its former footprint? Mr. Dudley loves Toledo Radio! In reading the filing I wonder how they are off air and the contract calls for BAS to operate it during the grant process and BAS is not allowed to do anything that would be adverse to the operation.
 
My guess is that he will sign a non-compete with Cumulus and jump it on the WRQN tower, but I could be wrong.

As for Aldrich, I didnt know he made the transition with Kim and Friends. The show could become a drama series right after "Passions"

If they change the COL, they don't have to worry about providing coverage to North Baltimore!

I believe COL changes are now minor changes with the FCC, they used to be major changes.
Find a station to change its COL to North Baltimore (maybe one of the Findlay stations?), then pick a new COL for 107.7 and provide service to that town ;D

Hey, Tontogany...maybe Haskins...you're going to get your own radio station!! :p

Go north out of Bowling Green on Route 25. It's roughly by the intersection of 25 and 582, just to the east of Haskins.

The signal is good in most of Toledo, challenged in the north side (Point Place) along the MI/OH line. That's why they purchased WTWR-Monroe, which is actually a Toledo channel.

Interesting, when Tower 98 moves, that leaves another county with no local service.
