WPGA-FM

I ran into AM 900 on the way in from work. The format did roll over. I wish these fellas the best. It could use some juicing up on the power but I'm glad for what I have.

I didn't know Nathan Hale was still kickin' around these parts. He'd make a good AM drive person for the station. I remember him from Q-106 when it was back of the grocery store in Fort Valley and when he was the AM guy on WRBN in '81.

I did have to click it off when I heard the sad song about the lady returning to the house she grew up in.

BTW didn't WPGA-FM turn classic country or was that just the Sunday night show?

Rolling through Macon, I heard WNEX playing urban gospel. During a segue, it was pitched as "Macon this one is for you on the new AM 980, AM 1400 and 100.5 FM, The Light".

And for the right price, all of Lowell's stations could be yours. This was listed on broker Doyle Hadden's website Friday:

"Macon, Ga. Network affiliate , full power TV station, on cable and DISH, with 3 radio stations, real estate owned, profession staff on board, great opportunity. $15.0M"

Is WPGA for sale FOR REAL?

Well, the other network affiliates in Macon are WMAZ, WGXA and WMGT. None of those TV stations come with radio stations. WPGA has WPGA AM/FM and WNEX. Along with the property they own at the studios and in Perry. Who else can it be?

I just wondered if this ad were bogus or not- or maybe "Macon" was actually some outlying town within an hour and a half of here. To think that Lowell would sell is also strange. I'm ready to see some logjams break in programming.
