WPIX 6:30 Newscast Cancelled

And very interesting since it comes on the heels of PIX being in the news for all the wrong reasons (see below threads)...

I guess this means the "Inside Edition" lead-in at 6 PM will almost certainly be rescheduled elsewhere on the lineup. Still, I give Tribune credit for trying something that was a fresh idea, especially at the expense of the vulnerable network newscasts.

I wonder if that's why sister station FOX 61 in Hartford scrapped its plans for a 4PM News/Entertainment show called Connecticut Now. Ever since FOX 61 n Hartford took over Management (and later owners ship) of WTXX Channel 20, WTXX had been running FOX 61's 10PM News - originally simulcast the first 20 minutes and then running weather and sports on tape and into local programming at 1030PM and eventually switching over to a full-simulcast.

Anyway on Memorial Day of this year WTXX was running a scroll during the 10PM News that the 10PM News would no longer be seen on WTXX as of June 7th and to tune to FOX 61.

So according to the schedule on ZAP2IT.COM FOX 61 and WTXX were supposed to be making schedule changes on June 7th. South Park and That 70s Show replacing FOX 61 News at 10 on WTXX, The Doctors moving from 4PM to 3PM on FOX 61, The Launch of Connecticut Now at 4PM on FOX 61. Steve Wilkos moving to WTXX. And a rearrangement of their court block on WTXX. June 7th Came and went and none of the changes took place.

Then Monday June 14th all the changes for FOX 61 and WTXX took place except for the launching of Connecticut Now on FOX 61. The Doctors remained at 4PM on FOX 61 and Steve Wilkos remained at 3PM on FOX 61 (a repeat of 11AM on WTXX).

The article said it's moving to 4AM, right before the morning news. If I had to list every timeslot and channel that show has had in New York for it's whole existence, it would probably take me hours.

Not to mention every channel! I recall it airing on at least WCBS and WNYW at some points. Also, it currently airs on WRNN, for what it's worth...
