WPIX in upstate NY?

Are there any cable systems still picking up PIX outside of Saranac Lake? Alex Bay recently dropped WSBK and WPIX.

Sadly not anymore I don't believe. Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s I certainly remember when NYC's three indies were on cable just about everywhere across the state. In Ithaca we had WPIX and WWOR. But by the mid-90s, once markets upstate were getting their own WB and UPN affilations, both stations were dropped like a rock from most cable line-ups never to be seen again.

I'm curious as to why Alexandria Bay had WSBK from Boston on their line-up for this long. I know at one time it was big in New England, but the St. Lawrence border town seems to be stretching it.

WPIX was removed off of Castle Cable because of the subcarrier of WWTI (50.2) which carries CW programming. I believe WSBK was kept on the lineup after the Red Sox were taken off because of the UPN affiliation. When that network was merged with WB, there was no real reason to keep it on the system.
