WPIX Pre-Empts CW Programming and 10PM News

Anyone know why WPIX is pre-empting The CW Network's line-up tonight along with their 10PM News? They're showing the Moive "RAY" instead. It's kind of weird for that The CW Network's flagship station is pre-empting network for something that's not a sporting event nor a major local breaking news story. And it's even weirder that their 10PM News is getting bumped to 11PM.
 
Not weird. Channel 9 does that all the time with long movies. The news will start at 10:30 or 11pm. They are trying to get people to watch. They could care less about the news.
 
Ray was a major movie that was in the syndication cycle that week. Since that night it was nothing but reruns of cancelled shows anyway, they figured they would get more viewers with that.
