WPKC-FM....A New Beginning!

Well, folks....I've been away for a long time in order to deal with the problems surrounding my station, but I thought I'd update you all on the current goings-on. Some of you may be aware that WPKC-LP in West Frankfort left the air back in February due to some unavoidable circumstances surrounding our transmitter site, as well as some storm damage to our antenna. The search for a new transmitter site was looking pretty grim until a few months ago, when we were able to strike a deal with a business owner in nearby Thompsonville. Problem two....our frequency of 95.5 FM would not work at the new site. Well, to make a long story short, I decided to jump in with both feet and do a little extra work on our minor change app to request a frequency change along with a change in coordinates. Within five days, I received clearance from the FCC to make the changes....ALL of them! We now have a permit to move the WPKC transmitter to Thompsonville and switch from 95.5 to 105.5 on the dial. WPKC will finally return to the air by the end of October! Just thought I'd fill everyone in.
