WPKR format change???

After turning on WPKR early this morning I noticed the usual country format was gone. The station is stunting with a mix of Country, Classicish Rock, and other country related music. Liners between songs range from "Go Pack Go" chants and the story of the 3 little pigs. So far there have been lots of refrences to wolves and dogs.

Heard them very slightly while trying for KUTT Fairbury, Nebraska on my car radio. I mostly heard WUSN and a bit of WPKR in there, no KUTT thou.

Very weird stunt indeed. It was soo obvious that the name was going to be "wolf" too, with every song that was out of place mentioning a wolf, as well as the imaging. The music being played was mostly country, with a few out of place tunes. I still, however, think that the stunt was really not needed for JUST a name change.<P ID="signature">______________

Well heck, they had to try something to take a bite out of Y-100s numbers! Have you seen them?? Geez...between WIXX and WNCY Midwest communications owns Green Bay and the Fox valley.

oh yayyyyyyyyyy......THE WOLF!!!!! Whooohoooh..... Pretty much the same music. New sweepers.....WHOOP-DEE-DING!!!! They'll still be on the outside looking in when it comes to concerts, big contests, and I don't hear anything but standard lame rip n read filler on their 100th morning show in 7 years.
I don't see how that's suddenly going to make all of Appleton and Green Bay abandon Y100. They should have tried somekind of a rock format and dumped this tired old station. All I hear is a Wolf howling every other song. Maybe he doesn't like the station much either.

There is only one 99.5 The Wolf...and it's in Dallas.

Every attempt to copy that radio station has failed. Texas is it's own country when it comes to music/promotions/radio. You can't spin the new Pat Green, George Strait, LeeAnn Womack etc. tune with the same feeling as in Dallas.

How about a HANK-FM like in INDY or Tallahasse? Isn't WPCK doing well with the legends format?
