WPLM AM 1390

What will happen? Can they drop a few towers, go ND and save the license? They have had problems with their array and from what I read they have an ancient transmitter. Perhaps ND with a Nautel J1000 - maybe an FM translator to run different programming? It would be a shame to let another license slip away..

I always wondered why they didn’t try to do anything with 1390. For a few years they carried that finance network part of the day which was brokered but for mostly it has been a straight simulcast of 99.1.

I would think Plymouth and the surrounding towns have enough going on to at least support some local talk programming in the morning.

It doesn’t bother me much for a license that isn’t doing anything original to slip away. A big problem with the AM band is it is over populated. The dead wood needs to go to give the healthier stations breathing room.

The FCC is talking about limiting the class A protecting now - if they do that it just means they are looking to kill the band by wrecking the healthiest stations.
