If it's on the radio airwaves at all, it's certainly not doing it legally. There's no such station licensed.

I thought it was Hot 97.1 WHOT "We The Best"

WPOT is the funniest call letters I have ever seen, even though it's unlicensed. Wonder what the owner was smoking when he came up with those call letters.

If it's on the air, rapking would be talking about this station.

I heard one on-air DJ said we live online and on the airwaves on 97.5 thats why i ask if they on-air since i dont live in boston area

If it's actually on the air, it must be very weak. I haven't heard it at all.

97.5 wouldn't work well for a Boston pirate anyway. It's first adjacent to local WKAF 97.7 which, from their Blue Hill transmitter, is strong in the urban Boston area that this pirate would target. Also, there's a strong Class B country station from Dover, NH on 97.5 itself which also makes it to parts of greater Boston.

well if thats the case they should just stay on the internet only plus internet radio is becoming popular. i personally think an urban radio station will be back in boston that targets African Americans becasue there so much rock stations, and i dont believe some of them will even last.

There are too many pirate stations already. If "WPOT" interferes with any of them, they might get beaten up.

They appear to be on the air. I picked them up on a scan heading up 93 in Medford yesterday. Carried them for a little while (until WOKQ overtook them). Tons of interference from WOKQ and WKAF. Listened coming into the city this morning. Started tuning in around Somerville and through Dorchester and Quincy. The interference almost makes it unlistenable (but they are putting out some power in order to be audible at all). I imagine if you had a fixed antenna radio it might be better than being in a car.

The website looks professional. The "call letters" are not. Finally, Boston has Hot 97 back! I guess there were no more frequencies left for WPOT to broadcast on, so it had to go with 97.5. I wonder if they'll have commercials for pot dealers on WPOT.

These pirates are really stupid, aren't they? Co-channel with WOKQ and first adjacent for WKAF, amazing. I'm sure WKAF will go right after them, considering 97.7 has practically a city grade signal in Boston. They're crazy.

I was able to get them on 93 up to 128. They are pumping out the juice but with WOKQ battling them pretty much once you get out of the city, it is pretty much unlistenable (except to a radio geek). And within the city (and immediate area) WKAF is bleeding over.

I picked HOT 97.5 up in Fields Corner in Dorchester on my walkman for a few seconds. Like some of you all said, it is unlistenable, even around Ashmont Train Station area, it is unlistenable.
I did listen online, it had some glitches at first, but it was ok.

If you like this type of format, your best bet (at this moment) is BIG City 101.3. Their signal is well heard (Mattapan, Dorchester and Roxbury (I can also get it in Orient Heights East Boston area=I listen on a walkman), and strong and they have a good variety of HIP HOP and Caribbean music.

I picked up a Caribbean one on 99.7 in Fields Corner area of Dorchester, as well as Ashmont Train Station area.

In those same areas I can also pick up 93.3 Providence, 94.1 Providence, 106.1 Cape Cod, 96.1 Worcester, and 104.5 XLO all on a walkman

96.5 sounds like a Caribbean Pirate as well, I start picking that up around Fields Corner as well

as well as 102.9, 106.1, and the others as the privious person said

Parked near Route 9 in Chestnut Hill (Newton/Brookline line) on Saturday, I heard pirates from the Boston area on these FM frequencies:

89.3, 91.3, 96.5, 97.5, 98.9, 99.7, 101.3, 102.1, 102.9, 105.3, 106.1, 107.5

Also 720 and 1580 AM, and some faint ones above 1600 (AM "expanded" band).

So I had a chance to hear this pirate today driving from Hyde Park into West Roxbury on Turtle Pond Parkway. Heard mostly R&B and Michael Jackson "Human Nature", along with a professional sounding liner (from what sounded like the same guy who was on WBOT) "Boston's station is back and better than ever- Hot 97.5".

Solid reception for most of the trip, even bleeding slightly onto the fringe WJFD on 97.3. However with the adjacent WKAF 97.7 only a few miles away at Blue Hills the IBOC hash was interfering for most of the time and did hinder the reception on 97.5 for quite a bit. Also as I got more north into West Roxbury I actually started getting WOKQ bleeding a bit into 97.5 as well. They definitely didn't pick a good frequency whatsoever!

That's a lot of pirates. I just don't understand why someone up there won't take a chance and program a good solid urban station up there. It seems there is a market for it.
