WPRB & "F'IN A"?

The other day, I was reading about the history of WPRB/Princeton. A couple different articles both say the station coined the phrase "f**kin' A."

True? Urban legend?

If it's true, does anyone know how it came about?

I've been using the unexpurgated version since the late '60's. I can't see how a BROADCAST station, even a snooty non-com in the middle of the commercial dial (why is taht anyway?) could get away with blatant use of the "f" word. Hell, WE CAN'T EVEN TYPE IT HERE TODAY!!!!!!!

It's a funny story on their web site, it doesn't say they used the
term regularly. WPRB is commercial, a full Class B 50 KW equivalent
college owned station. They run spots now and then for local
pizza places and stuff.. Princeton University doesn't need the money.
