WPRI 12.1 is now promoting "THE COOL TV"

I saw a promo on Channel 12 promoting "COOL".Promoting itself on 12.2,Verizon and Full channel. As the station is still NOT on COX even with the huge fee LIN is imposing on them and Cox rates go up like 10% begining next week.COX customers are clearly getting screwed.

I'm pretty sure Comcast does carry Cool TV in Bristol County, MA on channel 290.

It's also amazing that Full Channel carries it. Has anyone ever heard of this small cable company? It is a competitor to Cox in Bristol Co., RI, but it has actually served the area for 25 years. I remember in the early 2000s when Cox was buying out all RI cable companies, the owner of Full Channel refused to sell his cable company. But not all customers were happy with it, so Cox decided to come in on their own. Since then, Full Channel HAS upgraded, but not by much. However, I believe they do something with their system that no other cable company does, though I think they should. With most providers, you have to go to a different channel number for the HD (channel 10 on 810, channel 12 on 812, etc.) With Full Channel, if you have an HD receiver, it will automatically be in HD if you type in channel 10 or 12. I think all providers need this, because I think THIS is one of the reasons why most people don't watch HD even if they do have the capacity.

I know Comcast gets a lot of crap around here but I've watched TV at a friend's house who has Cox....and the content Comcast provides blows Cox out of the water.

As far as I remember Comcast offers much more HD content that Cox does in RI...I know Comcast went all digital which opened up a ton of bandwidth to add a lot of HD channels, and I don't think Cox has done that yet in RI.

Has Comcast even had a franchise in Rhode Island? Ever? It seem like over 90% of that state is dominated by Cox Communications. Something like 36 of the 39 municipalities have their cable service.

As for The Cool TV, I rarely see it get promoted on WCTX-TV (MY) channel 59 of New Haven, which is also controlled by LIN.

COX was planning on raising its rates even before this fiasco with LIN-TV. (COMCAST too).

What would be Cox Cable's reason for raising the rates this time? Correct me if I am wrong did Cox raise it's fees when SNY was added for UCONN basketball and football?

Also side question regarding SNY, is that channel still avaiable during the spring and summer? As all they would have to air is the NY Mets.

I don't like The Cool TV... once when I tuned in they were trying to pass something from Wayne's World off as a music video.

That had to be Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" released around time the movie was out in 1991.
