WPRI beats WJAR at 11PM

The November sweeps ratings are in...

November
#1: WPRI 6.7/13
#2: WJAR 6.0/12
#3: WLNE 2.7/5

Compared to October, when WPRI also won...(note sizeable gains by WLNE)

#1: WPRI 6.8/14
#2: WJAR 6.5/13
#3: WLNE 1.9/4

They are also gaining at 6PM..

November
#1: WJAR 10.1/19
#2: WPRI 7.1/13
#3: WLNE 2.0/4

It seems that Media General's cost cutting is finally catching up with them.

I would agree with KMS, it's that damned Leno that handed WPRI the late news victory!

BG02445 also pointed out on the National TV board:

"WJAR lost first place at 11 for the first time in 13 years."

Golly.

I blame that cheap piece of crap owner Media General over Leno for the falter of WJAR. Media General only knows how to run WFLA-TV in Tampa, their home market and headquarters, every other station is half-assed at best.

Well it's both factors. But The Leno can't be discounted as the main reason they lost at 11pm when winning the 6am,N,6pm.

When's the last time they have made a significant hire that wasn't weather related? WJAR used to have turnover of talent. People moved on, and were replaced by talented newcomers.
