WPRI lost some reporters....

I have noticed WPRI/WNAC are missing some reporters. John Mone and Audrey Derosiers have vanished from their web site. Any news on where they went?

People like to talk to about 6 losing a lot of reporters, but 12 has lost a lot of reporters. It has gotten so bad that they have used Danielle North (who must be freelance), and Marlyn Scharier (who must also be freelance as well). They have gotten a lot of new people as well like Elizabeth Hopkins (who is fantastic) Weekend Evening Anchor, Jennifer Cross Weekend Morning Anchor (both are also reporters), reporter Kathryn Sotnik (who came from channel 8 in Portland), sports reporter Liz Frisoli, and meterologist Pete Mangione. The only Full Time General Assignment Reporters left are Joan Moran ,Walt Buteau, and Al Nall (who seems to be the only weekend evening reporter sometimes), Jarrod Holbrook, and Sean Daily mostly do political reporting.

But I wouldn't work for 12 because I really don't like Lin's style of treating its employees at its stations including 12. Two examples are demoting Walt Buteau to reporter, then giving his slot to the less superior Mike Montecalvo, who also kept the noon slot, then only smart part of the decision, promoting Mark Zinni to mornings from weekend Mornings, but still hasn't found a weekend morning anchor to replace him. Former Evening Anchor Amy Deluca was doing it for a while, but in true Lin style she was dropped with no notice, Jennifer Cross has been doing the slot for a little while now.

The worse decision was demoting Steve Cascione to the unofficial weekend morning slot when Michelle replaced him. He left shortly after that to go back to 6 this time as the morning weather person this time around. Pete Mangione took his slot.

Since 6 got sold by Freecrap (Freedom Communications), 12 took the slot as having the worse owners in RI, because 10 has always been well run. Though I think WWLP & WTNH have been run ok by Lin.

WWLP has serious issues. I don't think an NBC affiliate should be running an hour and a half of infomercials in the middle of the afternoon. (2PM-330PM).

Traditional Infomercials air 2PM-3PM. 3PM-330PM is "22 Showcase" where they spotlight businesses and products of interest to those in the greater Springfield area.
