WPRI News in HD

Let's bring this up for the 19th time. Why isn't WPRI news In HD? They have a bunch of promos in HD Now. Why not the full newscast? Only reason that I can think of is that they haven't equipped the studio with HD cameras yet. I sure hope they do that soon. Then change the set and theme music. With all those cchanges in place I bet that they would have a newscast that I would love to watch. What are the raings for them now? Are they in number one place at Noon, 6 and 11?

I agree!! Its long overdue! As far as I know Channel 10 still dominates in the A.M, Noon and at 6 with WPRI taking the 5 and 11 slots.

No, none of the WPRI produced newscasts are in HD.

Also, Skynet, add the news ticker to your list of things in HD.

Also, speaking of news tickers, all of the stations, except WJAR, now have the capability to add local tickers over national HD programming without quality loss. I noticed this a couple of months ago, when WLNE put a breaking news ticker over ABC HD programming.

I noticed today during the Rhode Show that their HDTV in Studio B actually has HD on it, not just stretched SD, because when they brought up Ben Hague for a live shot on it, he was in 4:3 with HD Rhode Show sidebars.
