WPRI

It is December. And WPRI's Karen Adams is scheduled to depart from the station later this month. With Karen leaving. And no official word from the station regarding a replacement for Elizabeth Hopkins. This leaves WPRI with 2 slots to fill. Erin Kennedy is good at 5:30pm. And again on WNAC(Fox Providence) at 10pm. But I just don't see her as a f/t anchor for 6pm/11pm.
Danielle North is very good. She has been with WPRI for a long time. She is currently filling the slot previously held by
Elizabeth Hopkins. I think she would transition very well to nights. Kathryn Sotnik, while very good. I find her to be to
stiff & robotic. When she anchors the weekend news.

Come on now, Sky... you could have chosen a more politically correct way to phrase that question... :p

Two big openings on WPRI's news roster - and it's probably still in better shape than WLNE's news department!

2 big openings is right, DtotheJ! IMHO, I'd like to see WPRI bring back Pat Mastors. She would be perfect. Even though she hasn't been on air since 2005. She knows everyone there. So that would avoid any growing pains. But if management wants to go another route (younger anchor). Danielle North is the logical choice. She has been there since the late 90's. And no matter
where or when she is reporting/anchoring. She is a true professional. As for the other girls there. I don't mean any disrespect. But when they anchor on the weekends. Their eyes are so glued to the teleprompter, it just gives the impression, that if a glitch happens, they'll freak out. Loosen up girls. Having personality on television isn't a bad thing!

Nope. I like the way I phrased it just fine. So who's the black chick I like? ;D
I'll just go to their website to find out. I forgot her name. But I really do like her. I wish she was on during the week. They should give her a full time air shift.

Sky...I think that you referred to Deborah Horne as that "black chick" on WPRI back in the 80's! I'm totally sure that Deborah wouldn't be offended -- expecially now. Let's just say that she is a bit more "mature" these days! :D

LOL. I remember Deborah. Didn't she move to Texas or something. I remember seeing a clip of her on youtube from somewhere West of here.

Nneka Nwosu ?

Yeah.. That's Her. Now you know why I can't remember her name. I'm looking at what you wrote and I still don't know what it says. Looks like you leaned on the keyboard. :D

As long as they aren't like Ron Burgundy on the Teleprompter, I'm sure they'll be fine.

"Go **** yourself, Providence!" :D

Washington State...she has been at KIRO in Seattle since the early 90's! Just before Thanksgiving, Seattle had a major snowstorm (for them anyway). KIRO streamed their live coverage and Deborah was doing live reports out in the snow, probably bringing back memories from Providence.

That's awsome. There is a website called ivi.tv . They stream live television and they happen to carry all of the Seattle affiliates. I'm a subscriber, so now I can watch her if I want. Cool !

If I were Channel 12 management. I would see if Amy DeLuca would be interested in returning to channel 12? I would also try & see if Alison Bologna is interested (non compete issues probably) or former channel 6 anchor April O'Dell.
