WPRI's NewsChopper 12

Does anyone know if they still own it? I haven't seen any mention of it recently on their newscasts, and the link to the section on their website is gone.

It is (or was?) shared with WTNH, and if you search for it on their website, it shows the last video from it as being shot on December 5, 2008.

I saw some nice skyline views of the city earlier this week from a Copter, but it was probably just file footage. I don't remember hearing anything about NewsChopper 12 lately. Does WTNH still use the plane? I'm going to go their website in a few minutes to check it out. Maybe it just became a pain to share the thing. If both stations wanted to cover a story and use the chopper at the same time I could see where it may have caused a few fights.

Yeah, it seems like the last video on either station from the copter came in the first week of December, 2008. I wonder if they just couldn't afford it anymore?

WTNH has no need for a helicopter beacuse they seem to always cover major stories too late, if at all. Most of their pieces are all fluff and garbage. It's a shame to see what this channel has sunk to.

No plans that I know of. I think they've got bigger fish to fry right now money-wise. Like equipment used to actually get newscasts on the air.

Well I'm guessing that it's now going to be a hassle when they want to use the Copter to cover a big Factory Fire in Providence. How long a flight from Indianapolis? ;D

"We have a crew on the way to the scene and we'll bring you more as soon as we have it." :)
