Hi , I can hear the New York big shots now: "We lost Savage and Barber is bombing in R.I."By now, Matt Allen would have been firmly implanted in the 9 to 11 45 gig. Mrs Haynes could use some asprin about now.Meantime, WHJJ is gaining back ALL those conservatives they lost ,do to Arlene Violet, with Savage.I think Helen Glover must be stealing some of what was the Kass - Allen crowd.Standings on Bart and Violet are still an issue with WHJJ, however, they are clearly moving in the correct direction.My best to you,Chatty.
 
I'm only an occasional listener to the radio and it takes a lot to get me excited about Radio stations these days. So when I do feel any amount of excitement it's typically a good sign. Savage on HJJ has given me that rare feeling of excitement. It's like getting an old friend back. I'm not even talking about Savage. I'm talking about the Radio station. That is the old friend in which I speak. Depetro leaving killed them. However it sure looks like HJJ is definitely headed in the right direction now. I hope that they can keep the momentum going.
 
I'm with you SkyNet. I love listening to Savage and now have a reason to listen to WHJJ at night.I also really enjoy Helen Glover. Helen has really grown into that job very nicely.Dave Barber comes across as a used car salesman, a Jerry Springer type who talks trash to get a reaction rather than infom himself or his listeners on topics.Barber is here only a year until Buddy C gets out of jail and then Barber is out and Buddy is in.

I was tuned to Wrko, Depetro. He was saying rhode island needed him.Hum,,hum,, Hum...Will it be Depetro back on Hjj? Maybe just to go after Cianci!
 
06,I did, Its ALL Rhode Island ??? ???Why does Wpro not just take a stand and say " No , we aren't hiring a 2 time felon. Not in Saltys name, no way.."Cause, if they do ,I hope Depetro goes to Hjj ,and makes them deal with their decision.Maybe jd will be back anyway, only thing is, hes doing well in boston.Bottom line is Hjj is in the better position.
 
What makes you think JD is doing well in Boston? Listen tohim a couple of times a wk and he's boring. His ratings aren'ttoo good either. He was a big deal here cause we had somesuper scandals going on, but when it's quiet, he's BORING!!!!
 
My reasons for my comments on jd are these.I listen to him twice a week. Its a rollercoaster ride , just like Providence was.His ratings are high. Friends of mine at Wbz were talking about the numbers and jd. Thats where I got my information. I also think Cianci has become a Lead Balloon.Where did you hear jd wasn't doing well joy?
 
I've heard the same thing on the Boston Board about Depetro not doing well. Somebody might want to check the ratings to verify. From everything I've heard, his ratings in Boston have a lot to be desired.
 
There are around 5 posters, on the Boston board that hate Depetro.There are maybe 3 that like him. The 5 that hate him make up one bad story after another about, show, ratings,,,,At Wbz , they have the numbers. They see the numbers. Why would they lie to me?If Depetro was doing poorly, it would be everywhere. The boston board can be pretty rough. We can't post the numbers here anyway. So.......
 
Yes, if you look in the book you'll see that WRKO has gone down in ratings.You can't blame it all on Howie. JD has to take some of the blame too, causehe's BORING.

Rush wasn't on today, Roger Hichcock, so I switched to Howie Bart.
Not too bad, his second hour was basically two liberals vs. one conservative, Tony Far.
I thought Farr did a good job against the two others.
It seems that Wpro has Matt Allen waiting in the wings.
Whjj has Tony Far.
The reserve guys are better than some of the regulars.
The best thing to happen to Whjj is Savage. He has been on fire.
The one thing that would make my day would be the return of John Depetro. To Whjj ofcourse!

Wish Matt Allen was back on 5 days a week
York sounds like an asshole again. He has no problem with the crooked pols, even when
they'll throw people though windows ( Rep. Williamson).
Matts a better host and hes not NUTS. York is NUTS.
The only reason York made it in Rhode Island is because Sister Violet is just as NUTS.
Barber, York, Violet. A Trinity of NUTS. :'(
 
Agreed! Allen is fresh. Fun to listen to. Impressions that make me laugh my ass off. Can talk about anything and make it interesting. If I owned a radio station he would have a full time Show immediately.
 
Matt Allen does his Saturday show ofcourse, this Saturday was about the 4th of July.
He does it every year.

WPRO is fighting, inside the building, that is.
Barber and his sidekick E.J. have been going after Dan .
Using the Laffey situation to their advantage. Barber telling Laffey, "You're always welcome
on my show"
2 days later, after Dan says " Mr. Laffey you're dissmissed"
He has him on like nothing happened. Score on for that idiot Barber and Laffey,
and come to think of it Depetro!

Whjj says Live traffic reports July 3 Monday and Tony Far, 2 to 5 pm. I think the rest is best of shows.
Wpro has some good canned stuff, but nothing live.
Both stations will have live news.
Matt Allen is on vacation, if not, he would have been doing Dan Yorke's show.
