WPRO Legal Expert Louis Pulner

I sure hope this guy pays Citadel to be their "on air" legal expert! This guy wouldn't say S__t if he had a mouthful! Today, I was in total agreement with John DePetro regarding the Barrington boater case. Every time I hear this so called legal expert, he very cleaverly makes excuses for Judges and the Attorney General. This guy knows what side his bread is buttered on. He might have cases involving these people, so he WILL never say the government is out of line! Does this attorney have a criminal practice? If he does, he has a very jaundiced perspective. WPRO should get a lawyer who does not have a vested interest in the RI legal system. Now, if he pays for this exposure, then it doesn't matter. . .it's simply product placement.

It seems he doesn't want to say anything bad about the state's legal system because he knows that if he does, he could face retribution via his clients. I believe I've heard mention of him not being able to join them due to court meetings and what have you. If thats product placement, it's terrible product placement. I've not heard any mention of his law practice.

A quick google search.... http://www.lawyerratingz.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tcvid=8934

Some pretty extreme mixed reviews. Seems he either cleans house, or screws up.... according to that website anyway.

Must be doing something right as he is also legal expert for WPRI TV and makes appearances on Lively Experiment. And for some reason, a website that spells ratings with a z seems a bit shady to me...any and all lawyers are gonna have wins and losses

A show on many stations doesn't necessarily mean you are doing ANYTHING right. Go talk to CBS about David Lee Roth. They have a few things to tell you. As far as spelling ratings with a Z. Please tell me what choice they had when Ratings with an (S) was already taken as a doman. The only valid point you made was that all lawyers are going to have wins and losses.

My question is why is he the expert at all? Why just one guy? Does he pay (like advertising) to have this distinction? With him trying cases in RI just don't expect him to be honest about the system that HE appears before. I think it's just a revenue generator for WPRO. I mean I have heard other lawyers advertising on that station, why aren't "they" the legal experts?

Who in their right mind would call David Lee Roth an expert on anything? And as far as domain names-don't bother using the word ratingz and pick something else. Are you trying to tell me that if the domain for thebarassociation.com was taken they should use thebarassociashun.com!?! C'mon John, you are better than this...

Slang domain names are Ok in certain instances. It depends on the business. As far as the website we are talking about, I don't think anybody is going to the trouble of misrepresenting anything. No need to get paranoid about it. I don't think anyone is scheming.

My David Lee Roth comment was in response to you saying that Louis Pulner must be doing "something right" since he is on mutiple platforms. My point was that being on multiple stations doesn't mean that you are necessarily doing ANYTHING right. David Lee Roth was on a bunch of stations. What did he do that was so right? Go ask CBS. Do you understand my point yet?

By the way... who is in charge of calling anybody an expert? What makes somebody an expert? Does being an expert necessarily make you any good? Lots of questions there for you. I hope you don't get worn out answering. ;-)

Doing something right as a lawyer for a number of different platforms/outlets to consult him on various legal stories. Arlene is brought in as well for Ch 12 at times (as is Jeff Pine and Dennis O'Neill on Ch 10) and Buddy is for not only legal but also govenrmental issues on Ch 6, Gen Centracchio on Ch 12 for military issues, etc. He obviously got noticed at some point in the past (as far back as I can remember, Lou has been doing work for Ch 12 (and at least 10 years on WPRO) probably after a big case and being interviewed by either a talk host or the news dept, someone asked him if it would be ok to contact him in the future.

In terms of the domain names, I wouldn't use a website with a slang name (doctorzratingz.com would be ok in your book?) personally not because I think there is any scheming going on as who knows how good the information on the site is as most people would be looking at the RI Bar website, the RI Judiciary website, etc for info on a lawyer, IMHO, to see any fines and/or complaints lodged against them.
