Wpro studio, a petri dish of germs.

Is there ANYTHING that can be done about what happens year after year at Wpro? I'm told Vincent A. (Buddy) Cianci brought a nasty sickness into the studio and almost everyone has gotten it. Some have become very sick. Something needs to be done.
Are there any Industry standards for this type situation?
Any ideas?

A couple of times a month I drive by there. I have since been sick with a nasty Bronchitis type bug that hasn't gone away in 6 weeks. Now my girlfriend has it too. Maybe I should contact the Department of Health. I think WPRO has made us sick! lol

Or go to the Ghetto Penthouse. There aren't enough people there to spread germs.

Everyone should bring in their own 'spit screens' and Pro should get a quite in studio air purifier.

It's a serious topic. There's nothing funny about getting sick from the work place enviorment.

Unfortunately I can't think of anyone that I would want to stalk in that building. I need to drive by there whenever I go to Walmart in Seekonk. The quickest route takes me down the trail.

Ryan you are right on target. Most stations have outside cleaning services coming in to clean. They obviously can't clean every surface 100%. But during the winter season. Companies SHOULD offer Lysol wipes. And hand sanitizer to all employees. And instruct them to wipe down surfaces before & after using equipment. And wash hands when finished using the bathroom. While this won't eliminate all germs. Its sure to reduce it.

Howard Stern used to talk about spraying Lysol on the Mic before he started his shift. He didn't want the other guys germs all over it. Sometimes you just have to take your own steps to help prevent illness.

In sort of a related note. I was at my Doctor today and he had Lite 105 on. The morning show crew was talking about how there is no heat in half the building. The office cubicles are freezing etc. What the hell is going on over there?

Spraying Lysol on the mic is fine..but use the unscented versions..anything with Lemon or other scents can make using said mic a problem.

If you're going to use handwipes, all to the good..as long as everyone remembers to wipe down countertops and especially telephones..

Finally..Airborne..if you feel something coming on, using it can help rid you of it before it starts..

Hey Alfie and everyone, Dan Yorke was just speaking about this! I guess 'Duffy' got them all new Spit screeners and Wipes.
Gee , they MUST read this board! ;D Walter.

Now that we got so many helpful tips about germs let's tackle STDs.

The main thing is clean air. That somewhat small studio needs ventilation.
if the air is constantly being changed disease can be reduced by 80 %.
From a JAMA - CDC update 2002.
By the way, it costs America 80 Billion dollars a year for sicknesses from the work place.

It's not the the trail....there is something going around all over the state as there has been 5-6 people out at my place for the past 2 weeks sick (not just the vacation log) and I know my ex's place has had the same problem and the kids went back to school yesterday and there was 3 teachers out in their school, 2 others with something....it is not relegated just to the trail, it is winter, one person has something, everybody gets it
