WPRX-AM 1120 back in New Britain

Something is suspicious with this radio station. Normal businesses don't move 9 times in 22 years. And I heard from a reliable source they stay at 1KW around the clock even though they're supposed to cut power to 500 watts at night. There's always lies about this station. One article years back claimed they were going to boost the power to 20KW.

WPRX got its start leasing some weekend hours on WBIS on Bradley Street in Bristol. By the end of 1993 they were Leasing the station 24/7. Calls changed to WPRX and studios moved to the Berkowitz Building at 610-620 Main Street in New Britain. (It's the building that's at the top op Main Street near Broad Street with the windows all smashed out).

Then they moved to 10 Main Street in Courtside Commons. This was not long after the new courthouse opened. Reportedly the landlord kicked them out because they wanted a restaurant there. It became Peppino's Pizza. (Sp?)

81 West Main Street Suite G in New Britain was their next location. The owner of the station later said the space wasn't large enough.

Next was 20-28 Sargent Street in Hartford.

Sometime around 2004/2005 they were briefly LMA'd to Freedom Communications (WLAT/WNEZ/WKND) and they operated from Freedom's Studios at 330 Main Street in Hartford.

WPRX then went back to New Britain with "temporary" studios and offices located in an Industrial Building at 321 Ellis Street.

They then moved into permanent studios on a different floor at 321 Ellis Street.

They then they moved to an office building at 1253 Berlin Turnpike in Berlin. The owner claimed the ownership of the Ellis Street building wouldn't fix a leaking roof, which damaged equipment forcing them to be off the air for 3 days.

And as you mentioned they're now at 1 Hartford Square. The owner of the station claims new owners took over 1253 Berlin Turnpike and doubled his rent.
