WPRY off air?

I keep seeing posts on this forum that WPRY-AM Perry Fl is off the air yet the translator owned by them(95.3) is on the air. I thought a translator that rebroadcast an AM stations programming had to sign off if the station that originated it's programming went off the air. I have been through that area recently and have not been able to hear WPRY but I do hear the translator on the air with music from somewhere I can not find on the AM or FM band. Also, I do not find WPRY-AM on the FCC list of stations off the air. What's going on?

I have no knowledge of the situation, but a translator that is filling in an AM or FM station cannot be on the air for more than 24 hours if the primary is off.
