WPRY/WFDZ

Someone commented that WPRY was off the air when they drove through the other day. Are they still off and what is the FM doing?

I know the owner. That is unless something has changed. Anyway, the last time I talked to him he was looking for someone to run them. However, I think he really wants to sell them if he could find a buyer. There is at least one FM maybe two, another low power FM, an AM, and a low power Tv station involved.

I believe the owner is Fred Dockins.

That is correct. Fred Dockins is the sole stockholder of Dockins Telecommunications, Inc., which is the licensee of WPRY(AM), WFDZ(FM) and W237CN.

What is Fred Dockins doing now? and what about that low power tv station channel 18 any plans to put them on digital or keep running the radio stations and leave that low power tv station off the air?

According to the FCC, Dockins Telecommunications' WSFD-TV 18 is licensed as a translator television station with 150kw at 100 meters HAAT and holds a construction permit to move to digital channel 15 with 15kw at 100 meters HAAT and upgrade to LPTV status. If WSFD can get class A television status, its license will become a primary licensed facility.

Sounds like the TV, FM and AM translator all have construction permits. Is WPRY still off the air? I haven't noticed the FCC listing it as silent

I was the one who reported 1400 off when driving thru Perry about 7 weeks ago. There used to be the webpage www.wpry.com , but no result now.

Fred, had to go back to Missouri. He sold stations there but had to take them back due to none payment. The last time I talked to him, he was looking for someone to help out in Perry. My guess is that he would also take offers.
