Question. Wasn't there suppose to be w a new transmitter put into affect for WPST?
Has this been put into place yet? If so what was it for.
I never did get how PST could be licinced to philladelphia as once you get passed like wood haven road, it starts to really fade t ddue to images and due to a verry week 94.7 WRDX the rock of DE.

Exactly what is WPST's coverage area? It seems to me that i they are still more or less a New Jersey going north/Lower bucks county station.
I have always prefered PST when it comes to CHR. They are as close to mainstream as Philly is ever going to get. The others are rhythmic to much so for my personal taste. Okay so PST isn't exactly straight mainstream either, but I like there programming as wierd as it is

Isn't PST's transmitter located near the one of the malls here in Bensalem? Along with the other trenton transmittirs of WKXW and WTHK.

No. 97.5, PST's old frequency, which is now The Hawk, is now licensed to Burlington, putting it officially in the Philly market. It has applied for a stick in Philly, but not received the OK from the FCC for it yet. There is no application for any change to PST's current 94.5 frequency.

PST isn't and never was licensed to Philly. It mentions Philly in its ID as a secondary city it serves after its city of license, Trenton. And a note: WRDX has been The River, a Hot AC/Classic Hits hybrid for a couple of years now. They call themselves "Rock Hits."

www.radio-locator.com and put in pst's call letters. Maps aren't 100% accurate, but you'll get an idea. When you travel west, 94.5PST competes with a Lancaster religious station on 94.5.

Can't vouch for the exact location, but it is actually in Bucks County.

94.5 is located on Old Lincoln Highway a few blocks north of the Oxford Valley Mall, you cannot miss it. A small silver tower with two strobes and a three bay antenna on the very top. The tower seems a bit in need of repair and its next to a junk yard. They still put a better signal into Philly compared to sister 97.5. The only change to the tower was the new three bay antenna put up over 5 years ago, when they were religious and oldies they used a four bay.

Nor can there be, at least not to any significant degree. 94.5 in Trenton is severely short-spaced to WRDX in Delaware, WDAC in Lancaster and WYSP in Philadelphia. It is, just barely, a "pre-1964" grandfathered short-spaced facility, which means that it can actually move as close to WYSP as it wants. But even pre-1964 grandfathering doesn't allow a station to increase the amount of interference between itself and other grandfathered stations on the same channel and on first-adjacent channels. So unless WPST could negotiate some sort of downgrade to WDAC and WRDX, it's pretty limited to the west and south. I think 94.3 at Wildwood NJ ends up limiting them as well, and that's not a pre-64 grandfathered short.

There may be other restrictions as well. I haven't looked that far yet.

That's correct, just off Route 1. WKXW is at the NJN/WNJT site northeast of Trenton (also on 1), and WTHK is still at the old WTOA tower in downtown Trenton for now, pending its move to Wyndmoor (where it just amended its application to call for higher power, much lower on the tower.)<P ID="signature">______________

I have to agree with some points on reception. It seems the 94.5 signal does penetrate downtown Philly office buildings better than 97.5 does just by virtue of being closer. I couldn't get 97.5 in my office with a north facing window but could get 94.5. However, I had much more unreliable reception on 94.5 going south starting around the airport and west around KOP than I did on 97.5. Going south, you can forget listening to PST now once you hit Delaware when before I could get it a little ways inside Maryland.
